With that out of the way, SoccerGirlNYC had some pretty sage advise. Majority of the school hates them. Not every sorority is going to have the same reputation on every campus, and trust me, reading this crap will just make you miserable during recruitment. Some rely on their old reputation, even though their reality is not quite as shiny. Pi Beta Phi at Arkansas is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what is posted on here. With national chapters having hundreds of thousands of members you can't possibly categorize all of them into a few nasty words. The sorority has now grown to include 155 active chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Every house at UT has something to offer. Its hard to generalize about a sororitys reputation nationwide; there are many differences from campus to campus. Terrible physical house. (They can definitely handle their liquor.) Time to get with the times and realize that the top houses are no longer in the south and east and beauty and wealth are not considered as much as grades, sports and philanthropy. Quite frankly, very, very few PNMs will have much choice of where they are invited back to, or where they get a bid. Zeta: Amazing pledge class this year. Maybe because of the money they bring with them, their houses tend to be one of the nicest on campus. Theyre friendly and make everyone feel welcome, and they were really good at that during rush. THERE IS NOT A BAD HOUSE AT UTplease dont drink the kool aide They all have mixers with fraternities, date parties, formals, etc. Theta has more pretty girls and definitely a lot of party girls. Go to whatever campus you, your daughter, etc. If you pledge to a sorority and then think it isnt for you, decide on joining before the initiation process. Usually gives a few COBs. DG and Chi O are top of the middle tier with Phi Mu, and Kappa at the bottom. AXID is last. Kappa did very well. Kappa has less party girls and more YL girls than Pi Phi and Theta. The Pi Phis do tend to get the 'beauties', the Thetas get the 'jocks' and the Kappas get the 'partiers'. Kappa Kappa Gamma (Kappas) are known for being rich girls. Almost impossible to get into unless you know a ton of girls in the chapter, are beautiful, and from an affluent neighborhood. Most houses will already have an idea of girls they like before rush even starts.

If you already know people in the houses, then you wouldnt be on here or Greekrank asking for reputations. I find that college is s great place to create lasting friendships, with or without a sorority. Most freshmen at all three of their pref nights went PKT. Many other sororities say they are hot in a fake way, with heavy use of makeup and a bit of a princess complex. The only reason a girl wants to join KD is because ADPi is her other choice. At the bottom tier is kappa kappa gamma, delta zeta, AZD, and kappa delta. Obviously every girl going through rush wants to get into the "best" sorority on their campus and wants to be part of the "top tier." They try to be the cool girls on campus. The sorority touts its diversity, but some say the standards are so loose that theres very little tying all Chi-Os together in terms of personality, looks, campus activity, or academic performance. If you want to learn more about each house before recruitment, visit their individual websites. Particularly on a very large campus, undergraduates can benefit from the friendship and support a sorority offers. I dont think ADPi, KD, and DG rush based on looks. Houses that think all they have to do is take quota and that will keep them comfortably above AXiD will be wondering how they ended up on bottom. If you are coming to UT really raw, meaning no greek connections what so ever, you have a very large uphill battle. Trust the process. I mean they must race to the computer to drop anyone who is a hayseed/dork (Kappa), fat/jockish (Theta), ugly/tacky(Tri Delt) and they were 'nice enough' to give me 3 days. REAL feedback would be greatly appreciated. They have heavier girls in their sorority and would completely humiliate their pledges by making them strip down in front of their brother frat to circle 'prob' areas in a sharpie. As long as you realize that the average frat guy is not out for meaningful relationships (especially freshman and sophomore years) the better chance you have at not falling prey to the you are so special garbage. Even with some of the negative comments (which are expected and should be from every house), I have to say that this is pretty spot on for Texas schools, Bama, and Ole miss (theta exception for rebels). AXiD had a great rush this year, but they have definitely not surpassed KD and ADPi by ANY means. i don't have much info on sororities but i am a freshman in texas angels! This is actually pretty accurate and is just making the people who think the sororities cant change ever mad, but every other school has relative rankings that shift over time its normal.
